Pandemic and Picnics

Most of us are uncomfortable with uncertainty; and we’re living with uncertainty every day. It’s the new normal. Piknik Theatre is a small, flexible performing arts organization with no paid staff and minimal overhead. Will we have a 2020 season? We don’t know for certain. Can we put together a production on short notice? Yes we can. We will monitor the public health situation, which changes almost daily, and continue with our plans for the year. Unless we can’t. If that’s the case, be assured the show will go on in 2021 or whenever it’s safe to gather.

“Theatre exists in the coming together to share air, the ritual of real life, ephemeral and transitory, with the very real possibility that something totally transforming will reveal itself.”

Right now, sharing air can be deadly and until it’s reasonably safe once again, we will keep our options open while exploring other ways to bring theatre and performance to the community.
