SEASON 2026 AUDITIONS
Actor Musicians in Repertory
Do you play an instrument and sing?
Does Shakespeare fall trippingly off your tongue?
Do you love building new work from the ground up?
Then this is your season!
Piknik Theatre Company and Denver Theatre Ensemble are partnering for two repertory productions in Summer 2026, performed by a five person ensemble of actor musicians. Performers who feel comfortable jamming in band settings are highly encouraged to audition.

Actor 2. Female presenting or nonbinary, 20s to 40s
Actor 3. Male presenting or nonbinary, 20s to 30s
Actor 4 and Actor 5 have already been cast.
Exact role assignments will be determined after callbacks.
Actors of all identities and abilities are encouraged to attend.

Please Prepare
One Shakespeare monologue.
One minute of a song in a folk, bluegrass, or rock style.
A contemporary monologue is optional. If you play an instrument, you may accompany yourself. If not, please be prepared to sing and play separately. Singers who do not play an instrument will be asked to sing a cappella. All instruments are welcome.
Auditions will include a brief conversation with Artistic Directors Claylish Coldiron and Rhianna DeVries.

REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE
Rehearsals begin in Denver, Colorado. After two weekends of performances in Denver, the company relocates to Steamboat Springs for three weeks of performances. The Steamboat portion of the season will primarily take place outdoors. Performances in Steamboat run Sundays through Thursdays, with weekends off.
Official Contract Dates - June 2, 2026 through July 23, 2026
Denver Rehearsals - June 2 through June 18
Denver Performances of the Devised Piece and continued rehearsals for Romeo & Juliet - June 19 through June 28
Travel to Steamboat - June 30
Steamboat Rehearsals - July 1 through July 5
Steamboat Performances - July 6 through July 23
Return to Denver - July 24
COMPENSATION
Non Equity contract
$500 per week
Housing in Steamboat provided
No per diem
