An Evening with Singer Songwriter Antonio Lopez
Join us for an extraordinary evening with acclaimed Colorado singer songwriter Antonio Lopez, whose music blends folk, rock, and acoustic soul into a sound that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. With lyric driven songwriting, masterful finger-style guitar, marimba, and a rich rhythmic landscape, Antonio has earned a reputation as one of Colorado's most compelling independent artists.
**Fans of Paul Simon, Amos Lee, and Ray LaMontagne will feel right at home.
A Colorado native of Indigenous Chicano descent, Antonio was born and raised in Alamosa and now lives in Longmont. His thoughtful songwriting and captivating live performances have earned him two Colorado Playlist Listener's Poll awards for Album and Song of the Year, and he has appeared on some of the state's most respected stages, including the Boulder Theater, the Fox Theatre, and Swallow Hill Music.
Antonio's career continues to gain momentum. Most recently, he was selected as one of the 2026 artists supported by the Howlin' Dog Music Group, chosen from a highly competitive field of 124 musicians from Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas. The prestigious program provides career development and recording support to exceptional independent artists throughout the region.
As Piknik Theatre concludes its 2026 summer season, we are honored to welcome Antonio for an intimate evening of exceptional music.

Our mission is to create professional and community-inclusive performing arts in the Yampa Valley, ensuring accessibility through free summer Shakespeare productions and community based theatrical workshops and classes. We value arts education and provide opportunities for our artists to teach workshops, engage with schools, and connect with audiences of all ages.

MESSAGE FROM our new executive DIRECTOR
In January of this year, Stuart asked me to formally step into leadership of Piknik Theatre. I said yes with a full heart and with a clear understanding that this next chapter can’t look like the last.
For nearly twenty years, Piknik has lived on Stuart’s vision, grit, and generosity. But to grow, we have to build the structure necessary to evolve and sustain a professional theatre deep in the heart of rural Colorado. This means we must invest in professional leadership, artists, and educators who can deepen our work, mentor young creatives, and bring year-round programming to life.
A professional theatre requires professional infrastructure.
There’s no way around it — and it’s the only way to protect the spirit of what Stuart built.
